We have put together these conversion kits to assist people from paying too much for filtering their water.

It is no accident that there are systems out there that only take a certain size or construction type of cartridge, these systems are designed to be reasonably priced when you buy them, but you soon find out when it is time to change the first cartridge that you can not simply pop down to the Bunning's or local hardware/plumbing stores to obtain a replacement cartridge. Replacement cartridges is where these companies make heaps of profit as you are stuck with paying their high prices for replacement cartridges or replacing the entire system.

You may not have to pay their high prices any more as we have searched the world to obtain the parts necessary to easily convert their system back to standard size (9 ¾" (248mm)) Once your unit has been converted to the standard size you will have freedom of choice, we hope you will return to us for replacement cartridges but the fact is you are free to shop where ever you like. You will also have a larger range of cartridges to choose from at much lower prices as standard size cartridges sell in a very competitive environment so you get a better cartridge for far less.

9 inch systems (225 mm)

The 9 inch systems are the most common non standard system out there, had they had the special cartridge length longer than standard it would be easy to convert with a simple spacer but instead they made them shorter.

Listed below are some of the housing types and how they are converted.

If the tubs on your 9 inch system look the same as the ones pictured here then you are in luck as these are easy to convert. Click on the photos to enlarge. The cap (housing top) pictured on the left side (bottom) is the standard 9 ¾" (248mm) cap with the 9 inch cap pictured on the right. Note that they are the same except for the internal extension which is the only difference between the two. To convert a 9 inch system with the same tub as pictured above is as simple as buying from us the standard 9 ¾" (248mm) cap, unscrewing the original on your system and replacing with the new caps. There is no need to change the tubs (pictured top, left and right) as they are the same part for the 9 ¾" (248mm) and the 9" just the caps are different. Standard 9 ¾" (248mm) Plymouth caps $10.00 each posted free if ordered with cartridges.

The housing pictured to the left are made by QMP in America and can also be converted back to the standard size 9 ¾" (248mm) as we have the original caps to suit the housings. Standard 9 ¾" (248mm) QMP caps $11.00 each posted free if ordered with cartridges.

If your system is not listed above then you have another option, replace the core part of the unit with our plug and play versions. What this means is you simply cut the 1/4" tubes off your old unit and push the tubes into the unit as pictured on the left, it is that simple. These conversion units have John Guest fittings supplied that are rated to 235 psi pressure. Once your unit has been converted to the standard size you will have freedom of choice, we hope you will return to us for replacement cartridges but the fact is you are free to shop where ever you like. You will also have a larger range of cartridges to choose from at much lower prices as standard size cartridges sell in a very competitive environment so you get a better cartridge for far less.
