Fridge Filter Conversion Kit. Original manufacturer fridge filters are both small capacity and expensive. We have developed this replacement kit to not only save you money now but in the future. The kit includes the cartridges listed below, a wall or fridge mounting bracket, self tapping screw, roll of plumbers thread tape and two John Guest quick fit fittings. These Omnipure cartridges are original manufacturer replacements for some makes and models but there are some makes that only takes an original part but most can be converted to take the Omnipure range. This also allows you to taylor the cartridge to your needs, original manufacturer cartridges are rarely rated to treat for things like Cryptosporidium and Giardia, lead & heavy metals and their chlorine treatment rates are usually far less than the Omnipure range. Most Omnipure cartridges have a chlorine rating for 5,500 litres but most original manufacturer cartridges are rated around 1,000 litres. Omnipure cartridges are recommended to be replaced every 12 months. You will see in the lower photo to the left that the John Guest fittings are able to grab either copper or plastic 1/4 inch piping, these fittings are rated to 235 psi pressure and the more pressure applied to them the tighter they lock on. They are easy to install, simply push the tub into the end and it is done, to remove the tube from the fitting the system should be off and depressurized and by simply pushing on the retaining ring with your fingernail the tube will slide out. Been shocked by the Samsung or LG replacement cost, these are easy to convert as are many of the others. |

The Omnipure CL10RO-T33 is a granular activated carbon cartridge, 250 mm (10 inch) long and 50 mm (2 inch) in diameter. 5 micron and rated for 5,500 litres for chlorine. The carbon is acid washed to increase purity, this is what the T33 stands for, if you have a cartridge with T28 this is the down market version as it is not acid washed but the T33 is the same just a little better. The Omnipure SCL-10 is a scale inhibiting granular activated carbon cartridge, 250 mm (10 inch) long and 50 mm (2 inch) in diameter. 10 micron and rated for 4,750 litres for chlorine. This is the cartridge used by most fridge manufacturers including Samsung. Scale build-up in not usually a problem in fridges unless your water supply is high in calcium, if calcium is not a problem in your area try one of the other Omnipure range. |
