What are TDS meters, and why are they important? 

TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids, otherwise known as the dissolved minerals present in water. A TDS meter, or water hardness meter, tests for these dissolved compounds and minerals in order to correctly analyse the purity of a water source. In just seconds, a TDS meter can identify potential contaminants in your water source, both organic and inorganic, letting you know whether a water source is safe to drink or not. 

If you’re setting up a water filtration system or checking one for potential maintenance, a water hardness meter will quickly let you know whether the filter system is doing its job.
