The BOSS 031-4P reverse osmosis with post de-ionization will result in water with zero TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) and has an alarm TDS monitor included to notify you if the water has gone out of parameters and needs it’s filters changed.
This system is cheaper to operate than the Q series systems but not as easy to change the cartridges when compared to the Q series systems but it is not difficult to maintain at all. This system also is supplied with a hand held TDS meter as a way of double checking that all is working well.
The BOSS 031-4P uses a 1 micron sediment filter in the first chamber, a 5 micron extruded carbon block filter in the second chamber, a Dow Filmtec 300 litre per day membrane in the third chamber and a re-fillable MB115 de-ionization resin in the fourth chamber to remove any TDS that remains after the water has passed through the membrane.
Stages 1 and 2 require cartridge replacement about every 12 months on average.
Stage 3 is the membrane and this requires replacement about every 4th year on average.
The 4th and final stage is replaced (re-filled) on demand, this usually lasts about 1500 litres when the in-feed water is about 150 ppm (parts per million) TDS with reasonable water pressure (the system will not work efficiently on water pressure below 320kpa (45psi). It is your choice to order the re-fill packs and re-fill the cartridge or if you prefer you can order complete full cartridges.
The replacement cartridge cost of stage 1 is $8.50, stage 2 is $22.00, stage 3 is $75.00 and a re-fill pack of resin (500 grams) is $16.00 or $39.00 for a complete new cartridge.
Autoclave Water filters; why are they necessary?
Autocalve cleaners for dentists water is not just any form of water and definitely not the tap water. Many laboratories employ deionized or pure distilled water in an autoclave. This is because the relatively high mineral elements in ordinary water lowers its efficiency along with its life span as a result of stains deposition on the autoclave's inner sterilizing chamber inner surfaces. Moreover, tap water can also leave stains on the instruments' surfaces placed in the autoclave
Deionized autoclave water is efficient cleaning surfaces without leaving behind ugly deposits hence enhancing the ability to effectively rinse the autoclave and its complementary components.
