BOSS Fluoride Cartridge 10" (9 3/4") drop in cartridge. Suitable for a standard 10" housing.

Eliminate harmful chemicals in your water with the BOSS Fluoride Cartridge. Its activated alumina filter reduces lead, arsenic, and fluoride, while remaining chemical-free. Widely used in various industries, this deflouridation agent is now available for your drinking water. Trust in its scientific and objective purification process.

We imported some fluoride activated alumina type that we had heard about from the United states and were surprised with the results obtained is laboratory testing with a NATA certified testing lab.

The fluoride cartridge in this model is a re-fillable type so you can choose to purchase 450 grams of material and re-fill the cartridge $45.00 or purchase a complete full cartridge which is $65.00. If you have heavy usage and want to maintain a high removal at a high flow rate you will need to empty and re-fill the fluoride cartridge more often than the usual 12 months.

With most of these types of fluoride cartridges the specification sheets are quite vague stating up to 90% treatment and usually those types of results are not obtainable in the real world. We also could have put up to 93% but we don’t work that way.

The results are as follows in real world testing in Australia.

The fluoride present in the test water was 720 PPB (parts per billion which is .72 parts per million).

From the above tables, you can see that after a fair bit of usage the flow rate if kept to a slower level will maintain an acceptable removal rate. Most water filter systems flow at around 2.5 litres per minute.

The most successful way to treat fluoride and other contaminates is with reverse osmosis.
