Carbon types that can be ordered with the Re-fillable cartridge.

Coal based carbon has strong treatment for Chemicals such as chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, Colour, Taste and odour, minor treatment for VOC's.

Coconut carbon has strong treatment for Chemicals such as chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, taste and odour, Coconut carbon has stronger treatment for VOC's (Volatile Organic Substances) which are oils and things like creosote.

Silver Nitrate Impregnated Coal based carbon has strong treatment for Chemicals such as chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, Colour, Taste and odour, minor treatment for VOC's. Silver carbon is ideal for un-chlorinated water as it won't allow bacteria to grow on the carbon surface which is a problem with other carbon types. Chlorinated water supplies normally control the bacteria on the carbon.

Chloramine carbon is called catalytic carbon and treats the ammonia while it is still bonded with the chlorine which is the two components of chloramine. Chloramine carbon has strong treatment for Chemicals such as chlorine, ammonia, pesticides, herbicides, Colour, Taste and odour, minor treatment for VOC's.

When normal carbon such as Coal or Coconut carbons are used on chloramines the chlorine is treated but the ammonia isn't.

Carbon with 2 kg of KDF, the information on KDF is extensive and we suggest you follow this web page link to the KDF site for information on how KDF works https://www.kdfft.com/ The carbon in this cartridge will treat much of the chlorine,  pesticides, herbicides, colour, taste and odour, the KDF will do heavy metals, scale and much of the bacteria. Not suitable for un-chlorinated water.
